Cardiff City 1-2 Wigan Athletic – FA Cup 5th Round – 15th February 2014

Soccer - FA Cup - Fifth Round - Cardiff City v Wigan Athletic - Cardiff City Stadium

Wigan’s goal-hero from last season’s cup final struck again on Saturday in Cardiff, with Ben Watson’s 4oth minute strike securing a place in the last eight for Wigan. Chris McCann had put the visitors ahead on 18th minutes before striker Frazier Campbell fired home an equaliser soon after. But then, just before half-time, Watson rocketed home a fine winner after a free-kick.

After the break, the Bluebirds pushed for a leveller but failed to create enough decent chances, leaving the holders to march on to the quarter-finals.
