As some of you will know, I’ve been out of the country for the past few days on Stag detail, and it would seem that – barring Callum McManananananananaman shredding Massadio Haidara’s knee ligaments – I haven’t missed an awful lot.

That was until I happened across the tale of Carl Ikeme’s season-ending injury.

Apologies for being slightly late on the uptake here but for the benefit of those who haven’t seen it, Ikeme conceded a turd of an own-goal against Championship relegation rivals Bristol City at the weekend and was subsequently substituted at half time…

Now it turns out that Ikeme wasn’t substituted off at the interval because of his dropped bollock, rather he angrily punched the tactics board in the Wolves dressing room after receiving a dressing down from manager Dean Saunders and broke a bone in his hand.

According to Saunders, Wolves’ tactics board is “only cardboard”, though Ikeme accidentally connected with the metal bar that runs across the back of it and bust his fist up good and proper!

The 26-year-old goalie is now expected to miss the next several weeks at least, with many assuming that he’s put himself out for the season.

Add this one to the ‘Dumb Injuries‘ file.
