The good news for World Cup fans of an Egyptian persuasion is that Mohamed Salah has been passed fit to start against Uruguay in their opening Group A fixture on Friday afternoon.
As you well know, Salah suffered a strained shoulder when he danced the dark waltz with Sergio Ramos in the Champions League final, but the latest coming out of the Pharaoh’s camp is that the Liverpool winger will pass muster in time for their first match.
Of course, that’s only if his own supporters can refrain from re-injuring him with fits of excitable selfie-mania between now and then…
