Prodigious PSG striker Kylian Mbappe passed a significant footballing milestone by opening the scoring for France against Peru in the 34th minute of their Group C game.

Mbappe was Johnny-sur-le-spot to tap home at the far post when Olivier Giroud’s deflected shot looped over the stranded Peruvian goalkeeper Pedro Gallese…

In converting the chance, 19-year-old Mbappe became the first ever player to score at a World Cup to be born after his fellow countrymen muscled out Brazil in the final of the 1998 World Cup.

Of course, this is super depressing for fans of a certain advanced vintage, but Pies must nevertheless extend a begrudging ‘well done’ to Mbappe.

The little git.
