Hours after Jack Wilshere concocted his evil plan to usurp Barcelona on Wednesday night, Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas has gone on record as saying that his side shouldn’t get hung up on Barca’s obvious footballing superiority and just ‘play without fear’.

Fabregas is quoted in this morning’s Sun as saying:

“We don’t have to worry too much about them, we just have to play with no fear and play our game.

“We respected them too much last season (a rag-tag Arsenal side were walloped 6-3 on aggregate at the quarter-final stage of last year’s Champions League), in the first half especially.

“We know they are the best team in the world and it is a big task for us. We have a young team but one with a lot of quality and energy.

“It is difficult to learn from last year’s games. They are such a good team. Even if you know everything, they have so many quality players that can make the difference.”

As an aside, Barca have already netted a rather impressive 71 goals in 23 league games this campaign (15 more than Arsenal, in three fewer games).

Feel free to make of that what you will.

Hey fellow gooners, gleamer of hope! just relax and watch arsenal bambuzz the CATs who in a way cannot do it in europe this time because EU law does not recognize the power they have in Spain. In a matter of fact, it is no coincident that they are always dipped in form in their domestic responsibilities before any european game. Someone may be detoxing here and that takes a week or thereabout or the big wistle may go off ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ahaaaaaaaaaaa. On the other hand arsenal have come of age. Its no fluke that we distroyed chelsea and the likes of man-city had to park 400 million pounds bus on their post in utmost fear. All hail AW, he has found the formula again. Forget what happened at newcastle that was just FA arrangemrnt. They are finding it difficult to come to terms with the fact that someone can win their league without multi-millions and God of justise prevailed and will continue to do so as long as they continue to cheat arsenal. I predict we are winning three truphies this season or more if we can manage the ingury front perfectly. Lets start with Barca destruction. Note my name all readers and send me my compliments at the end of the season. God bless all arsenal fans and AW specially.

Just re-watched last season’s Barcelona match at the Emirates the other day. Everyone seems to think they’re heading towards a massacre but during that 2-2 draw they were very much toe-to-toe the entire way through. Of course they were at home and of course Barcelona was not the same team but then neither is Arsenal. I think it will be much closer than people expect.

    true words from chris here.
in fact before messi came up with a truely and even for his standards outstanding performance at camp nou arsenal were pretty much through… then again a match goes until the final whistle and barca do have lots of players who can win a match almost on their own. theres no denying that but nevertheless its game on for the gunners…
