Burnley 1-1 Aston Villa – Premier League – 29th November 2014
Joe Cole netted on his first start for Aston Villa in a high-energy clash at Turf Moor, but ultimately the Villans failed to hold on for what would have been a rare win.
Paul Lambert’s men started well and had a number of chances to score early on. However, the goal eventually came on 38 minutes, courtesy of a strike from Cole. After the break, the Clarets pushed for the equaliser and eventually it came, but on via a Danny Ings penalty. That spot-kick had come after Jores Okore had fouled Lukas Jutkiewicz in the box. Ings then hit the woodwork as the hosts looked for another goal, but in the end both sides would have to settle for a share of the points.
Sean Dyche’s men go a point above bottom-side Leicester while Paul Lambert’s Villa, now without a win in nine league games, are 16th.
