Liverpool 0-0 Blackburn Rovers – FA Cup Quarter-Finals – 8th March 2015

11th in the Championship they might well be, but on Sunday Blackburn Rovers played out a deserved draw at Anfield in the last eight of the Cup.

Benin international Rudy Gestade was a handful all game for the Reds’ back-four, who saw Martin Skrtel stretchered off early on after a clash with the striker (Thankfully the Liverpool centre-half is fine). Kolo Touré did have a first-half goal flagged for offside, however, but overall Brendan Rodger’s side were struggling to contain the Rovers attack.

After the break, Alex Baptiste was denied a goal after a superb save from Simon Mignolet while the Reds did start to turn the screw late on. Jordan Henderson saw a volley saved but ultimately Rovers would get the replay their performance well deserved.
