French playmaker Dimitri Payet has one of the stars of the season so far, with the Frenchman’s eye for a goal and creativity firing West Ham to what has been a superb campaign in both the league and FA Cup. On Sunday against Blackburn Rovers, the 28-year-old netted two fantastic goals which helped the Hammers to a 5-1 win and set up a quarter-final clash with either Manchester United or Shrewsbury Town.
On 36 minutes, Payet fired home a magnificent free-kick to put his side 2-1 up…

Then, at the death, the former Marseille schemer picked up the ball in his own-half before running at the Rovers’ backline and finishing off a magnificent solo effort (which is worth two videos)…

Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike (with a brace) also scored for Slaven Bilic’s side after Ben Marshall opened the scoring for Rovers on 20 minutes. As for Payet, he’s now scored nine goals and assisted a further eight in a quite a stunning first season with West Ham. Not a bad little player, is he? Indeed, apparently West Ham fans have nicked that ‘We’ve got Ozil’ song off Arsenal fans and now sing it about Payet! (joke)
