The great and good of the Bolton Wanderers alumni fraternity descended upon the Macron Stadium yesterday afternoon for a charity exhibition game in aid of the club’s Supporters and Community trusts.

The two sides were captained by Bolton old-timers John McGinlay and Tony Kelly, with likes of Jay-Jay Okocha, Jussi Jaaskelainen, Kevin Nolan, Gudni Bergsson, Ricardo Gardner, Ivan Klasnic and Fabrice Muamba all turning out for the occasion.

Indeed, perhaps inevitably, it was Okocha who ended up stealing the show, scoring a hat-trick (two goals for one side, one for t’other) and generally lighting up the game with his flair and technique as was his calling card back in his playing days.

The Nigerian opened his account with a classic strike, gliding in from the left before curling a nifty little pearler inside the upright…

There was also a lovely moment when Muamba tucked away a penalty, much to the delight of every single person in the stadium…

Here’s the full highlights should you wish…
