Cologne striker Anthony Ujah has issued a public apology to his club’s mascot after manhandling Hennes the goat after scoring against Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday.
Ujah rammed one home in the 82nd minute to put Cologne 4-1 over Frankfurt before charging over to Hennes and forcibly attempting to mount him.
The celebration caused a flutter of consternation on social media and so Ujah took to Instagram to sincerely apologise for being heavy-handed with Hennes, writing: “Apologies to Hennes for my hard celebration”.
There be a lesson to us all: If you want to successfully seduce a goat, try a little tenderness.
