There were strange scenes over in the Bundesliga this afternoon after Borussia Dortmund’s game against Bayer Leverkusen had to be suspended in the 65th minute over a disciplinary issue.
Even stranger was the fact that the disciplinary issue revolved around Leverkusen coach Roger Schmidt, who refused to leave the pitch having been sent off in the aftermath of Dortmund’s opening goal.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored on the break but Schmidt was left incensed by what he deemed to be a foul on Stefan Keissling in the build-up.
His protestations saw him sent to the stands. He refused to leave the dug-out, so the officials walked off the pitch instead.
Dortmund’s match report pretty much sums up the sentiments of the rest of the watching world…
