PSG striker Ezequiel Lavezzi was probably well within his rights to throw a bit of a paddy last night, seeing as though Carlos Ancelotti first subbed him on in the 73rd minute, only to haul the Argentinian forward off again just seven minutes later.

A sub getting subbed? It’s the ultimate footballing ignominy…

Shortly after Lavezzi  – who has been somewhat lost in the shuffle at PSG since joining in the summer – had given the ice cooler what for, Porto popped in the winner through James Rodriguez’s rather spiffing curled effort, leaving many wondering just what in the name of giddy Aunt Amelia coach Carlo Ancelotti was playing at.

However, the man himself explained his actions thus: “[Lavezzi] had a muscular problem. He was uncomfortable and he was not able to continue. I had to change.”

So much of a muscular problem in fact, that our Zeke was only able to launch the ice box into the lower ionosphere.
