We always find it a little bit unsettling when football mascots are taller than the players they’re paired with, but Snoop Dogg – sorry, Snoop Lion (he’s a Rasta now you see? Wonder what drew him to that particular religion?) -obviously doesn’t mind, as he’s politely requested that Celtic let him hold Scott Brown’s hand and lead the teams out when the Bhoys play Juventus in the Champions League next Tuesday evening.

During an interview in Dubai last week, Snoop – who not long ago stated he was eyeing up a place on the Celtic board – said:

“[The Juventus game] is the one I need to go to. It’s the game we’ve been waiting for. I need tickets but I want to walk out with the team like a little kid with the banner. Yes, yes, make it happen.

“Hail, hail the Celts are here. Yabadabadoo!”

Ah! “Yabadabadoo!” The famous Celtic war cry.

God bless his little cotton socks. Sorry, Jah bless his little cotton socks.
