Real Madrid got their 15/16 Champions League campaign off to an impressive start against Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday evening, with a Cristiano Ronaldo hat-trick helping the Spanish giants to a 4-0 win at the Bernabeu. Those goals took the Portuguese superstar to a record 80 Champions League goals. However, as far as we’re concerned, the night belonged to Ronaldo’s team-mate Sergio Ramos.
In the first-half, the Spanish defender came forward for a free-kick, and when the ball was chipped into the Shakhtar box, Ramos took an almighty, almost gravity-defying dive after a good old grapple with a defender. Arching his body like a high-jumper, the 29-year-old’s ‘simulation’ was a thing of theatrical beauty…
Ramos got nothing for his trouble, and rightly so. However, it still gets a ‘Bravo’ from us.
