Lionel Messi broke the 200-goal barrier for Barcelona with a hat-trick against Viktoria Plzen (he’s actually up to 202), so it was only fitting that the Gods should have a peek through the clouds just to see what all the hubbub was about…

We’ve got a few stats for you vis-a-vis Messi’s milestone. It’s now 202 goals in the space of just 286 games (122 in his last 125 appearances) for Barcelona and, aged just 24, he’s now just 33 goals shy of the club’s all-time top goalscorer, Cesar Rodriguez, who set the record in 1955.

Not bad. If he keeps taking those growth hormones he may just make it one day.
