“Look, no watch”

West Midlands police have appealed to the public in a bid to return an expensive watch to Birmingham City winger Peter Lovenkrands after the Dane was mugged by two hooded ne’er-do-wells outside his house in Solihull last night.

The thieves made off with Lovenkrands’ £30,000 diamond-encrusted Hublot watch and also attempted to snatch his wedding ring, but apparently it wouldn’t come off his finger.

Lovenkrands was unhurt in the incident, but police have urged anyone who is offered the watch to come forward and have issued a photo of a similar model to help retrieve the timepiece…

Very demure. Very pink.

Detective Sergeant Andrew O’Keeffe, from Solihull Police, said:

“The watch that was stolen is very unique and we would ask anyone who is offered a watch of this kind to contact us immediately.

“Fortunately the victim was unhurt following the robbery but this was a frightening attack and we are appealing for the public’s help to find the offenders.

“If you have any information that can help our investigation, please come forward and call us.”

Come to think of it, we reckon we might have seen Lovenkrands’ watch last night. If we recall correctly, it was put up as one of the prizes on the Hook-a-Duck stall at our local gypsy fun fair…

Quick, someone get us the number for Solihull Police.
