The Guardian are reporting that Harry Redknapp is in advanced talks to join Derby County as director of football.
Redknapp could be appointed within the next 24 hours with the club eager to bring an experienced figure in to support the interim manager Darren Wassall, who replaced Paul Clement earlier this season.
Talks are ongoing with the 69-year-old former QPR, Tottenham, Portsmouth, Southampton, West Ham and Bournemouth manager and his appointment could be confirmed this week, before the East Midlands Derby against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Just to make it all the more nonsensical, other sources are suggesting that the deal may only until the end of the season and that Glenn Hoddle may also be set to add his name to the Rams’ payroll.
This is a club who sacked Paul Clement last month for being too short-termist in his attempts to get promoted. That was the official line anyway.
Anyway, we’ll just leave this here…
