In what seems like a slightly premature move, the EFL have released their 2016/17 Team of the Season selections for the Championship, League One and League Two.
As you may have twigged, on average there are still two months and eight games left to play this campaign (Rochdale have ten fixtures left), with the play-offs scheduled thereafter.
Regardless, the Football League have jumped the gun and compiled a ‘Team of the Season’ for each of their three divisions as part of their 2017 EFL Awards bash.

The fun isn’t over yet though, with Sky Sports confirming that an overall EFL Team of the Season (a ‘best of’ XI mulched together from all three tiers) will be revealed at the EFL Awards ceremony on 9th April.
We’re sure this all makes sense to somebody at the Football League.
