Jose Mourinho was left fuming last night after Chelsea binned a 1-0 lead to go on and lose 4-2 against New York Red Bulls in a pre-season friendly out in Harrison, New Jersey.

With Chelsea going in a goal up at the break, £8million signing Asmir Begovic came on to replace Thibaut Courtois betwixt the sticks for the second half and proceeded to concede four goals in 45 minutes as the Blues wound up on the wrong end of a 4-2 defeat.

In fairness, the Bosnian ‘keeper was almost immediately thrown in at the deep end when John Terry’s duff backpass invited Franklin Castellanos in to equalise for the Red Bulls just five minutes after the restart.

It all went south from there…

Ouch. Things can only get better, we suppose.

Also, the Red Bull team was almost entirely made up of their reserve squad, as they regulars had a game the day before. Scheduling nightmare but worked out great for the youngsters.

Yeah, maybe just a preseason friendly, but it was a very weak NYRB squad. I’m surprised they were able to get the result when playing with their reserve team — I would’ve been surprised if the first team would’ve beaten them too.

MLS seems to be showing some incredible growth — and not even based on this result.

Hahahahaha…hahahahaha…hahahahaha…Chelsea, champions beaten by kids and part-timers…hahahahaha…hahahahaha…hahahahaha, oh they’re in for a great season. Who thinks any higher than 6th?
