Caught in the Goodison tunnel and pressed by BT Sports’ Ray Stubbs about being heckled by Everton fans over his fruitless pursuit of John Stones this summer, Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho – in one of his classic ‘mind games’ power plays – managed to utter a solitary garbled sentence about the question being too long before marching off in a huff…

Everton went on to win 3-1, Steven Naismith becoming the first player to score a Premier League hat-trick against Chelsea in the process.

There are few more satisfying spectacles in football than Jose getting his comeuppance. The big bloody mard-arse.
