When four-year-old Chelsea fan Hudson McCarthy heard that his favourite football team were descending on his hometown as part of their pre-season tour of Australia, the young fan posted a message on social media inviting the players round for a barbecue.
Lo and behold, ahead of their game against Perth Glory, Blues trio David Luiz, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Ethan Ampadu turned up at Hudson’s front door with their bellies a-rumblin’.
Lead by Luiz, the players spent the evening in Hudson’s company, meeting the family, enjoying a bit of dinner and even having a kickabout in the back garden.
A dream come true. 💙

Awww. As charm offensives go, that was a bloomin’ lovely one.
Luiz made a point of promising to score against Glory as his personal present to Hudson, even organising a special goal celebration for the occasion.
Unfortunately, at time of writing Chelsea are currently 1-0 up at half-time in the Optus Stadium, with a single goal from Pedro proving the difference thus far.
