While he may not be having much of an impact on the pitch for Chelsea, striker Fernando Torres looks to have created a stir off it, courtesy of an interview he gave to Spain’s Primera Liga website last week.

In the interview, the out-of-form striker is reported to have claimed that his older Chelsea team-mates are too slow. The Spanish international has now stated that he has been misquoted, but already Blues boss Andre Villas-Boas is hunting down an original recording of the interview to find out just what his £50million misfiring star actually said.

Villas-Boas doesn’t seem overly concerned about the issue, however. “If it was unauthorised, I’d fine him, of course, ” he explained. “Anyhow, it’s one player’s perspective.”

Still, with only one goal in 18 Premier League games for Chelsea (at a rate of one every 1010 minutes), and with Daniel Sturridge starting to look the real deal, how long will it be before Torres and his alice band are off to Dubai or Russia for an easier life and even more money?

  1. Sex God says:

    Ah yes, Fernando Torres.

A once future potential Sex God understudy but unfortunately couldn’t live up to that potential.

  2. Joe says:

You’re really original, you know that?

  3. Joe says:

Also, ‘future potential’ is a little redundant, wouldn’t you say?

  4. Les says:

I swear this guy had gone away. Anyway, i reckon Torres has had it if even Sturridge gets in ahead of him like against Bolton. SHould have stayed at Lpool

  5. Edgar says:

Torres is done. He won’t be called for Spain for the Euro 2012 because they already have 5 better players than him. Villa, Negredo, Soldado, Pedro and Llorente (his name is Fernando Torres too). Hell even Raul should be called back up instead of this guy.

  6. wolfinho says:

should find his way back to atletico (who lost forlan, el kun, and de gea this summer). he’d start scoring goals again and, being in spain, would repair his standing in the national team. but, while i don’t agree he’s done, i agree with edgar, those strikers mentioned are playing much better at the moment.

  7. High as a kuyt says:

    Shevchenko?

  8. dp says:

He should have stayed at Lolpool, but they swapped him for Carroll. Like for like I guess, though they wasted an extra $10 million on andy Capp. Sturridge looks like the real deal though, will be interesting to see what him and Lukaku can do.

get a life Sex God, you are not funny. Just some fat virgin who sits on his computer all day elevated on his high horse. That is all. Torres will join Eto, Zhirkov, Dszudzak (sp?) ,and R. Carlos at Anzhi IMHO by the way.

  10. DJ says:

I have no sympathy for Chelsea paying Liverpool £50m who was clearly out of form in his last year at Anfield. No wonder they took the cash.

  11. MR. T says:

TORRES=WASTE OF CASH. FRONT THREE SHOULD BE STURRIDGE, LUKAKU, MATA. IF NOT NEXT SEASON THEN THE SEASON AFTER (CUZ BY THEN DROGGERS WILL BE TOO OLD)

  12. Anonymous says:

    Danny Sturridge is the future

  13. oralleeeee says:

poor ol fernando. best and worst thing that happened to liverpool ,and definitelly worst thing that happened to chelski

  14. Luke says:

Cheeky swap with Modric in January perhaps?

  15. Mr.Angry says:

hahaha, so glad we got rid of him! most playerss who leave anfield after a succesfull spell rarely ever find their true form again!
