Chelsea 3-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers – Premier League – 26th November 2011

In tricky winger Juan Mata, Andre Villas-Boas has arguably the one truly creative attacking player in the Chelsea squad who can make things happen with just the swivel of his Latin hips.

The former Valencia attacker set up two goals and bagged the third himself as the Blues steadied the ship at Stamford Bridge. JT headed home the opening goal after just seven minutes, to give the controversial defender his fourth league goal of the campaign, which equals his best-ever season haul in the Premier League. Daniel Sturridge made it 2-0 on the half-hour before Mata himself killed off Wolves on half-time to make it 3-0.

With an injury-ravaged squad at his disposal, Mick McCarthy would have expected the worst on Saturday’s visit to Stamford Bridge and the fixture didn’t disappoint. Wolves are now just two points clear of the drop-zone, while the Blues stopped the recent rot.
