Many an eyebrow were arched quizzically when Fulham decided to shovel £12million into Olympiakos’ lap in order to secure the services of striker Kostas Mitroglou on transfer deadline day, though the Greek striker has gotten himself off to the best possible start for the Cottagers – scoring an absolute peach on his debut for their U21 side (i.e, the reserves) in their 3-5 away win over Aston Villa at Bodymoor Heath.

Unfortunately, Mitroglou’s sublime goal was pipped in the ‘goal of the game’ stakes by even more wondrous strike (skip to the 2:30 mark) from Fulham keeper Marek Rodak, who blasted the ball over his opposite number from the other end of the pitch.
