A second-half hat-trick from German attacker Andre Schurrle secured a west London derby win for Chelsea which saw them go four points clear at the top of the table. The first-half produced no goals although the Blues looked far more likely, with Eden Hazard superb throughout. Then, after the break, Schurrle netted a quick-fire hat-trick to shoot down the struggling Cottagers and keep Chelsea on target for the title. Dutch defender Johnny Heitinga did bag a late consolation goal for the hosts, but remain rooted to the bottom of the table and in serious trouble.
