Is there anybody in there? Here’s the round up…

Liverpool working on The Eden Project?

Rumour No. 1: I was waiting for this one and, in fairness, it’s taken a few more days than I expected, but now Liverpool are reported to be tracking Lille’s £20 million-rated playmaker Eden Hazard.

The 19-year-old Belgian shone over both legs of Liverpool’s recent Europa League clash with the French side, and it is now thought that Rafa Benitez has singled Hazard out as the man he wants to revive his somewhat stagnant midfield.

The point of no return

Rumour No. 2: Arsenal are monitoring the progress of Wigan Athletic’s 19-year-old midfielder James McCarthy.

The young Scots/Irishman has impressed this season – only last week notching a stunning own goal against Aston Villa – and Arsene Wenger is apparently assessing whether McCarthy is ready to make the step up in quality.

The Best of the Rest: Rumours abound again that 28-year-old Joe Cole will be the first victim of Chelsea’s ‘older player’ purge.

Aston Villa, Fulham, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are all being strongly linked with a summer move for Wolves’ striker Kevin Doyle.

Roma and Celtic are first in the queue to sign Portsmouth midfielder Nadir Belhadj.

West Ham may make a shock bid to bring David Beckham back to the Premier League after he recovers from his achilles injury.

Birmingham City have shelved their interest in Spurs striker Roman Pavlyuchenko due to the Russian’s current form, but may revive their bid to bring Celtic’s Aiden McGeady to St. Andrews in the summer.

Blackburn Rovers are planning a move for Zamalek’s 24 year old Egyptian playmaker Shikabala.

Derby County are attempting to bring Portsmouth forward Tommy Smith back to the club on loan till the end of the season.
