Fulham have completed the signing of Aleksandar Mitrovic, with the Serb striker joining from Newcastle for a reported fee of £22m.

Mitrovic enjoyed a potent loan period with Fulham last season, with the 23-year-old scoring 12 goals in 17 games for the west Londoners as they returned to the Premier League via the play-offs.

Mitrovic, who scored for Serbia against Switzerland at this summer’s World Cup, joins Fulham on a five-year deal, three years after moving from Anderlecht to Newcastle for £14.5m.

On returning to Fulham, Mitrovic said:

I’m very glad and happy and proud to finally be here and officially become a Fulham player. I’m happy to the moon and back.

I have love for the fans. They’re amazing fans and I have a really good connection with them.

This is a big club and last year we made history, we did big things, and I want to continue this. We want to keep making big things, and with all the fans behind us I think we can go far.

Mitrovic follows the likes of Andre Schurrle and Jean Michael Seri to Craven Cottage this summer, as Fulham boss  Slavisa Jokanovic continues to beef up his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

A technically gifted side, Fulham will benefit from the physical presence Mitrovic provides in the coming campaign.

More of the same, just a grab bag of bumbling henchmen from a Jason Statham movie.
