Arsenal extended their winning streak to nine games on Sunday, after a thumping 5-1 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

Alexandre Lacazette opened the scoring just before the half-hour mark, with the in-form striker turning sharply before firing past Marcus Bettinelli in the Fulham goal.

The Gunners were impressing once again, however, it was Fulham who would score next, with Andre Schurrle chipping the ball over Arsenal ‘keeper Bernd Leno after an initial loose pass from Nacho Monreal.

Soon after the re-start, the visitors would regain the lead, with Lacazette scoring again, this time when his long-range effort arrowed into the bottom corner.

Unai Emery’s men were now in control and on 67 minutes, the would score a sumptuous team goal which was finished off by sub Aaron Ramsey, via an audacious flick.

The Welshman, whose future could well lie away from the Emirates, netted just 39 seconds after coming off the bench.

Another sub, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who had assisted the Ramsey effort, then got on the scoresheet himself, this time swivelling on a pass from Hector Bellerin before slotting home.

The rampant Gunners would score one more, with Aubameyang getting his second of the game, after being set up by Ramsey.

The two subs both scored and assisted in the game, the first time two players had ever come off the bench for the same side in a Premier League game and both notched a goal and assist.

The game would 5-1 to the Gunners, with their ninth win in a row pushing them ahead of Tottenham and into the top four.

Despite their somewhat generous run of fixtures recently, Arsenal seem a far more potent, robust and happy side under their new Spanish boss.

As for Fulham, despite their technically attractive play, they look far too lightweight for the top-flight, with changes in style or personnel needed sooner rather than later.
