After a stroll in the sun in the first leg, this was a stroll in the pissing rain at Craven Cottage. Terrible conditions in London last night but Fulham still looked several classes too good for a plucky Vetra side.
The impressive Dickson Etuhu opened the scoring (this was one time when you could use the “floodgates” cliche), then an Andy Johnson brace gave a pleasing symmetry to the result: Fulham won the tie 6-0 on aggregate and now play FC Amkar Perm of Russia. It’s a very long round trip but Roy Hodgson’s team should be good enough to win again and continue their European adventure.
