I’m not sure if Vincent Kompany thought he was playing in a testimonial on Tuesday night in Jerusalem, rather than a key Euro 2016 qualifier.
With the Belgians a goal up (scored by Marouane Fellaini from a Kompany assist), the Man City defender decided to go off-script, juggling the ball on the half-way line before volleying a wayward effort over the Israeli bar….
But that wasn’t the end of the drama for the former Anderlecht man, who was sent off in the second-half after an ill-judged dribble went horribly wrong…
At least the Belgians managed to hold on and register a precious away win, a win which puts them ahead of Wales at the top of Group B – albeit on goal difference alone.
