With his fly-by-night advisory role at Derby County on the back burner for the duration of the international break, Harry Redknapp is filling his time by taking charge of the Jordan national side for two – count ’em, two – World Cup qualifiers.
‘Arry’s reign got off to a flyer today with an 8-0 barrelling of Bangladesh, striker Hamza Al-Dardour scoring a hat-trick in the process.
Directly after the final whistle, Redknapp got his first taste of Jordanian media obligations when he gave a post-match interview that saw his non-existent grasp of Arabic clash awkwardly with a local reporter’s fractured grasp of English.
The results? A lot of shuffling around and forthright answering of completely misheard questions…
Next up, Australian away on Tuesday.
