The US lost their first ever Gold Cup group game on Saturday, going down 2-1 to Panama in Florida in distinctly uninspiring fashion – a fact neatly summed up by this subtle headline in a Panamanian newspaper…

…”Oh My God! We Screwed The Gringos”.

After a fair old string of weedy, asthmatic performances, you’ve got to assume that beleaguered coach Bob Bradley is surviving purely on borrowed time these days – though it seems like we’ve been saying that for a while now.

Firstly, love the commentary. Secondly, Tim Howard looked like an unco under 9 goalie when he conceded the first goal. Trash keeping.

  2. hgo says:

hahaha fucking gringos. your time is up motherfuckers

  3. Chris B says:

    Wa-Wa-Wee-Wa!

    our time is up?

have you stooped so low as to put all your efforts into CONCACAF, hgo?

this was a horrible effort by the US, but by my account, in the world of FIFA, we’ve never done anything anyway, so it’s not like we “had our time” in any competition that matters. if we cock-up every Gold Cup but make it to a World Cup semi-final in the next ten years, i’d be happy.

oh, and thanks for the canal. sorry you got the ass-end of that deal.

    Fucking Mexican wannabes

  6. Riley says:

Mexican wannabes? I can assure you, there isn’t one American that wants to be Mexican. We like being able to drink from the tap without worrying about Montezuma’s revenge.

  7. Jon says:

Stereotypical ‘Johnny Foreigner’ commentary, love it.

  8. eltigreferoz says:

Please explain what you mean by “first time ever”? Do you mean, first ever time USA has played Panama in the Cup? Or the first time ever Gold Cup? Or first time the two sides have met in the first round? Because, actually, is not a first time ever for any of those.

  9. tossah says:

american “socccer” needs to be overhauled to be able to compete on the global stage. like Jurgen Klinsman said, the pyramid is upside down in america, where the poor cannot afford to join local teams or leagues, discussing that many more of the low-income latino and black populations need to be appealed to play soccer because it’s affordable like in the third world, which america has now become

  10. Orteguita 10 says:

    @Riley
I’m sure that there are some Mexicans that wants to be American, but for our good, those idiots are on your side of the border, in Los Angeles or Chicago. You can keep that crap, they’re just like you, maybe they say MONTEZUMA instead of MOCTEZUMA too. Ignorant cunt with your stomach full of shit. I had friends from Germany, Czech Republic, England and Finland visiting México and nobody had a complain, so maybe the problem it’s you. By the way, we love good beer and good food, not “Burritos” and that shit that you, morons, by as “Mexican food”. All we’ll never fancy your piss-tasted beer.

@eltigreferoz: “The US lost their first ever Gold Cup group game on Saturday…”

It was the first time ever that the USA had lost a game in the group stages of the Gold Cup.

The Panameño commentator was like “gol, gol, gol, gol, gol, gol”, on the first, that’s crazy haha. Americans may not wannabe Mexican, but they wish they could play football like Mexicans can, that’s for damn sure.

    LOLOL @wolfusa.

I love how every central american country thinks that football is “their” sport, except nicaragua of course. Funny that ive never seen mexico raise a trophy before. . . all their beer is german btw, or based off a german brewery so they cant say their beer is good either. hmmmm so at least the food is good, mexico has that going for them lol. BTW Jurgen Klinnsman needs to take over the US national team SHARPISH.
