There are tears (again)…

  3. George says:

Shearer wasn’t captain in Euro 96. Tony Adams was, so Gazza is remembering that wrongly unfortunately.

  4. Toz says:

True legend of the game, and what happened to him is tragic.

I hope he’s on the right track.

  5. von wurstenbrauer says:

He looks old suddenly, but of course a great player nonetheless. Reading about his pranks always made me laugh!

  6. Dave says:

What a man, total legend even if he’s had his moments. England’s current squad should be made to watch this and realise just what it means to play for your country.

  7. Jarren says:

I hope he’s beaten the alcohol problem.

He just needs to look at George Best to see where that leads.

Hope he’s got his life back on track.

I’m not even English (I’m from Northern Ireland), but when he breaks down you’ve got to know what he means.

Pride in where you come from.

    Ye canny beat it.

  8. Hondo says:

Absolute legend; a truly tremendous player to watch when he was at the peak of his powers. This interview should be made compulsory viewing for all the spoiled, over-rated, egomaniacal, egotistical twits in the English national football team-his profound love for playing for his country is truly inspirational even if I am not English myself; but that depth of passion resonates with me. I hope he can overcome his problems and get his life on track; the footballing world is poorer for Gazza not plying his trade with his inimitable brilliance and hilarity.

I got a lump in my throat there. I know he’s done his fair share of bad things (chinning his wife) but I can’t help but love him. Best player in the world in 1990 WC
