Merlin_4Welcome to Pies’ new weekly feature Sticker Sunday. Readers who have been with us since our Bratwurst days might remember the successful Panini Mondays. Sticker Sundays will continue in a similar vein.

Every week we will open three packs of Merlin’s FA Premier League stickers and let you know how we are getting on as we aim to complete the album. Feel free to join in the sticker fun. The Pies swap shop will be open for business! Click below to see who we’ve got in our first three packs.

PACK 1
Darren Ambrose (Charlton) A fairly inauspicious start to our Sticker Sundays. Charlton’s bit-part winger.
Teddy Sheringham (West Ham) Mr Danielle Lloyd of Celebrity Big Brother alleged racist bullying fame.
Wes Brown (Manchester United) Looks like his trying to be Rio Ferdinand. Certain irony there.
Carlton Cole (West Ham) Ex-Chelsea striker. Looks a bit simple on this picture.
Arjan De Zeeuw (Wigan) Is it possible to look Dutch? He does anyway!
MOST WANTED: Phil Jagielka (Sheffield United) Hmm. Based on the most ordered stickers from last season’s collection, Merlin has put together a Most Wanted section. An excuse to sell more stickers? Possibly!

PACK 2
Tomas Rosicky (Arsenal) Greasy looking midfielder. Looks a bit like an artist.
Leon Osman (Everton) Looks like someone’s just told him a joke and he is trying not to laugh.
Ian Pearce (Fulham) Woah, that’s a big neck!
Dimitar Berbatov (Tottenham) Spurs’ Dracula lookalike.
Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (Charlton) Intense stare at the camera from JFH.
STAR MAN: Carlos Tevez (West Ham) Shiny and ironic.

PACK 3
Xabi Alonso (Liverpool)
Never trust a footballer who incorporates their squad number into their autograph.
Jerome Thomas (Charlton) Former Arsenal winger with pencilled-in facial hair. Slightly dog-eared sticker.
Glen Johnson (Portsmouth) Toilet-stealing full-back.
Julio Baptista (Arsenal) What are you doing here? You belong in the Carling Cup sticker collection!
Anton Ferdinand (West Ham) Rio Ferdinand after an allergic reaction.
Premier League Logo Sticker number 1! Not sure if it’s rare at the moment, but I can hope.

A promising start to our collection and no swaps yet. Join us next week for the next installment of Sticker Sundays. [Rob Parker]
