Bayern Munich’s New 2014/15 Home Kit Is All Kinds Of 1990s Bavarian Retro – Red And Blue And Beautiful All Over (Photos)

FC Bayern Mu-ª+¬nchen home on turf

So, Bayern Munich have just launched their new home strip for 2014/15 and it’s a thing of true beauty to Pies’ eye, evoking memories of several classic FCB kits of yesteryear with the re-introduction of a nice bit of blue into the whole equation.

It’s got a distinct 1990’s feel about it, and that’s all good by us.

In case you were wondering, the wording on the back of the neck of the shirt says “Mia san Mia”, which is apparently a famous German motto that “all Bayern fans proudly know by heart” and which translates as “We are who we are”.

Once again, Adidas manage to pull off a master stroke! Very nice shirt, retro! Steffen Effenberg would be proud to wear this one!

  2. Mik says:

I like solid Red for Bayern.
Not a fan of the stripes!
The last two Home kits were outstanding by Adidas.

  3. Big JT says:

    Looks awful IMHO

  4. London Broncos Rugby League Fan says:

@Ross: Effenberg was the memory I had as well! Good shout. Loved this kit. Loved it when Palace got promoted in the playoffs with it as well in the late 90s. Just missing the D and the K to make the TDK sponsorship. Classic kit.

i liked the jersey when it cam out 1997 with klinsmann, ziege and so on. this here is just the refurbished version plus now they also look like barcelona.3 of 10

  6. James C. Taylor says:

It’s odd how Bayern change their strip so often: all red, red with white sleeves, red and white stripes, red and blue stripes, blue with horizontal red stripe… But they’ve done this for about forty years. I still think of all-red with white trim as their “proper” kit.

    You have shitty taste Chris.

It all looks a little barcelonismo to me complete with the pretentious slogan…must have been designed by Pep before he fell out of favor

  10. Hootie says:

Pep Guardiola’s evil Barcelonization of Bayern continues! Bayern in blaugrana!

  11. jeep says:

clueless fools linking this with barcelona, when bayern played like this in the 90s, 60s and even 1910s.
also barcelona got their kit from fc basel.

  12. Juki says:

“Mia san mia” is Bavarian dialect. In German it would be “wir sind wir”.
