An Indonesian sportswear company have apologised after seeing the “humorous” (circa 1965) washing instructions they printed inside one of their football kits back-fire.
For reasons beyond our comprehension, Salvo Sports printed “Washing instructions: Give this jersey to your woman IT’S HER JOB” inside their Pusamania Borneo FC replica shirts.

With the eradication of sexist abuse in football currently at the fore, an image of Salvo’s Jim Davidson-inspired quip went viral on Sunday (International Women’s Day, no less!).
In response to the haranguing they received from all and sundry, the company issued the following half-arsed non-apology:
“The message is simply, instead of washing it in the wrong way you might as well give it to a lady because they are more capable.”
“There’s no intention to humiliate women. In contrast, (we want to tell the men) learn from women on how to take care of clothes because they pay attention to details.
“Not all men understand/know how to take care of their own clothes, women are more knowledgeable/experts on such matters.
“We apologise profusely for any miss-interpretations.”
Oooooh. Now we get it.
