To help bolster the re-launch of the Speciali Eternal, Umbro have roped in Real Madrid’s (seemingly reformed) hatchet man Pepe to regale us with the story of his first ever pair of football boots – a pair of trusty Specialis.

In the following video, Pepe chats with his father about the struggles and hardships he went through to support his son’s dream of making it as a pro. Anyone allergic to emotions would be advised to stay well clear…

Here’s a few shots of the achingly gorgeous new Umbro Speciali boot, which looks an awful lot like the old Umbro Speciali boot – which isn’t a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination!

Beautiful. They’ve even got the wishbone and everything! Marvellous.

Forget your neon pink exo-skin technology, hyper lacing systems and laser-etched adamantium blades. That’s how all football boots should look, forever.

What are they made out of?

I have worn Umbro Speciali boots for years and I really wouldn’t have it any other way. There’s just something about them. They’re not light, they aren’t carbon fiber, they don’t have built-in grip or a special sweet spot or any gimmicks like that, but they’re perfect.

The moral of the story is – football boots cost way too bloody much!

so, this video is here to explain us why pepe is such a dirty, disgusting, cheating (feel free to put appropriate adjective here) asshole on the pitch? because he had to fight against older boys when he was a young lad? f*ck. you. pepe.
