With their Thundercats crest and their svelte navy/gold club colours, Mexican side Pumas UNAM are well versed in knocking out utterly sublime kits.

Indeed, their latest batch for the 2016 Apertura campaign are no exceptions, with both the home and away jerseys positively dripping with unctuous golden goodness.

The motif that covers both of the shirts is actually inspired by the Central Library on the UNAM (National Autonomous University of Mexico) campus in Mexico City, with the detailing taken from a portion of the huge mural that adorns the front of the famous old building.

How many football kits do you know of that were inspired by libraries?

Friggin’ ace.

Actually, quite a lot of kits seem to be inspired by the library of the university I went to, in that any way you’d look at them, they don’t work. Not the case here, obviously, but… well, while it’d be a cracking training shirt, even a normal laity shirt (I’d quite like one, despite the fact I didn’t know till now where in Mexico the Pumas were from), but is it really “match-worthy”…
