With the UEFA Nations League set to plarp into life next week, Adidas have unfurled the official match ball with which the inaugural round of fixtures will be played and it’s a bit of a Bobby Dazzler.

Using patterns lifted from the cafeteria seating of an old P&O cross-channel ferry, the Nations League ball is resplendent in red, yellow, blue and green and comes complete with the competition’s marque stamped on the side…

So, that’s that really. It’s a football. It’s round, leathery and full of air. You either like it or you don’t.

Speaking of the Nations League, Pies had the pleasure of stumbling across the official anthem recently and we’re happy to announce that it’s precisely as hammy and over-the-top as you’d imagine.

We particularly enjoyed the “breakdown” section around 1:20 where the voices appear to be chanting “pointless, endless” in unison.

Can’t help but feel UEFA are trying to tell us something here…
