Just a quickie to keep y’all abreast of happenings on the domestic front, in so far as the draw for the first round of the Capital One Cup (or the League Cup as it’s also known) has been made this morning.

It looks a little like this…

Derby County vs Scunthorpe United
Rochdale vs Barnsley
Port Vale vs Burnley
Notts County vs Bradford City
Hull City vs Rotherham United
Fleetwood Town vs Nottingham Forest
Carlisle United vs Accrington Stanley
Doncaster Rovers vs York City
Crewe Alexandra vs Hartlepool United
Bury vs Middlesbrough
Chesterfield vs Tranmere Rovers
Sheffield United vs Burton Albion
Blackpool vs Morecambe
Leeds United vs Shrewsbury Town
Preston North End vs Huddersfield Town
Oldham Athletic vs Sheffield Wednesday
Cheltenham Town vs Milton Keynes Dons
Ipswich Town vs Bristol Rovers
Stevenage vs AFC Wimbledon
Exeter City vs Crystal Palace
Yeovil Town vs Colchester United
Birmingham City vs Barnet
Bristol City vs Gillingham
Northampton Town vs Cardiff City
Plymouth Argyle vs Portsmouth
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Aldershot Town
Walsall vs Brentford
Millwall vs Crawley Town
Torquay United vs Leicester City
Dagenham & Redbridge vs Coventry City
Peterborough United vs Southend United
Swindon Town vs Brighton & Hove Albion
Watford vs Wycombe Wanderers
Charlton Athletic vs Leyton Orient
Oxford United vs AFC Bournemouth

All sides from the Championship down are entered, apart from Bolton and Blackburn – who earn a bye to the second round on account of being super-di-duper. Premier League sides enter in round two, apart from the seven that qualified for Europe – who are put into the hat for the third-round draw. That’s just the way it is…duddle lum, duddle lum, duddle lum…somethings’ll never change…duddle lum, duddle lum, duddle lum.

Newly-promoted Fleetwood Town will play Nott’m Forest in their first ever League Cup tie – so that’s Forest out in the first round again then.

Excellent.
