Toulouse Provide Fans With ‘Official’ Sick Note To Watch Pesky Weekday Afternoon Cup Match

With their Coupe de la Ligue quarter-final against Marseille kicking-off at 5pm tonight, many Toulouse fans are being forced to skip the game due to its massively inconvenient weekday afternoon scheduling.

However, the Ligue 1 side have devised a plan. Indeed, they have produced an ‘official’ (read: totally unofficial) sick note to allow their supporters to duck out of work or school early in time to watch the game.

Toulouse have prepared the letter on club stationary and made it available to download and print off from their club website.

Several reasons can be ticked off for missing work, with “To passionately play the role of 12th man for Toulouse” and “To see Marseille eliminated and to savour the moment like it should be” among the choices.

There is also a sworn promise that absent fans will “redouble their efforts” to make up for the work they’ve missed upon their return.

Can’t say fairer than that, can you?
