As per there are some absolute belters to be pored over. Indeed, the nominees are as follows…

6. Lionel Messi (Barcelona) vs Athletic Bilbao

7. Philippe Mexes (Milan) vs Inter Milan

8. Marcel Ndjeng (Paderborn) vs Bolton Wanderers

9. Esteban Ramirez (Herediano) vs Deportivo Saprissa

10. Carlos Tevez (Juventus) vs Parma

The only way you can officially register your vote is via the FIFA website, so head over and vote for your favourite.

The winner will be announced in January as part of the 2015 Ballon d’Or gala in Zurich.

Some bloody fine goals in there but Pies’ vote definitely goes to Marcel Ndjeng for his bullet volley against Bolton.

Pre-season friendly it may well have been, but that technique was fearsome!

Who gets your vote this year Pies fans?

Its got to be #1, 3, 4,, or 9 for me. Don’t think friendly goals should count tbh. It changes the complexion of the game too much, easier for players to take risks / waste possession with speculative efforts. More luck than skill.

  2. Hootie says:

Carli Lloyd because of the occasion and the culmination of one of the great sporting performances I’ve ever seen. Also, somewhat “unfair” Messi gets docked points because it’s unfun for him to win every year, like he probably should. No one else scores that goal. No one.

  3. milt_palacio says:

No offense but that third goal in Nr.5 isn’t very good, barely reaches the goal and some hilarious goalkeeping. I know it’s nominated because of the occasion, but that’s not what this award shoud be about in my opinion. Nr. 7-9 are my favorites, also my favorite goal in the last year(ish) was Aaron Ramseys ridiculous leftfooted volley vs. Galatasaray

  4. usrick says:

Messi’s run the best, slightly more impressive that Tevez’s. The rest, good as they are, look to be one off lucky shots and/or poor goalkeeping. Messi, on the other hand, did it all intentionally and a healthy Messi can replicate the magic – just ask Boateng.

  5. Jg says:

Tbf Lloyd’s goal has some serious involvement from the keeper (atrocious)

  6. Janes says:

A stunning goal is a stunning goal regardless.

  7. Greg says:

Jack Wilshere will probably win it.

  8. ChrisCan says:

If someone scored from midfield to complete their hat-trick in the final of the men’s World Cup, that would most definitely win the Puskas. As such, it’s Carly Lloyd for me. She was unstoppable that day. Mexes and Esteban Ramirez round out the top three.

  9. Maria says:

Token women’s goal in there as usual. Best goal is clearly number four. His awareness and then agility made that goal.
