Pies recalls six Cup Finals that will live long in the memory for sweet FA.

1. Chelsea 1-0 Manchester United (aet), 2007
Two knackered, nervous teams cancelling each other out for 90 minutes, and then a bit more for good luck, until Dider Drogba broke the deadlock. Truly dire to watch.
2. Arsenal 0-0 Manchester United (Arsenal won 5-4 on penalties), 2005
Not a single goal for 120 minutes. Just like 2007, both sides were too scared of making a decisive mistake. So much for the classic that was expected.
3. Arsenal 1-0 Southampton
Any match in which the pre-match hype revolves around a rumour that the mighty Chris Baird could be deployed to quell the threat of Robert Pires has got borefest written all over it! Pires did manage to score the only goal of the game though. Well done, Baird.

4. Leeds United 1-0 Arsenal, 1972
A dull, scrappy encounter in which neither side performed to the best of their ability. The match was punctuated by a series of fouls.
5. Manchester United 1-0 Liverpool, 1996
A nightmarish day from start to end, beginning with Liverpool’s dodgy white suits and ending with a trademark dodgy David James flap. The two memorable incidents bookended an otherwise snooze-inducing final.
6. Chelsea 1-0 Aston Villa, 2000
The final FA Cup final at the old Wembley will definitely remembered for the demise of the Twin Towers rather than the on-field action (or lack of). Roberto di Matteo scored the only goal of a dull game. David James didn’t even bring his white suit to liven up this one.
