1. Alan Comfort
The former Leyton Orient player is now a minister and chaplain at the O’s. He is also co-author of the spiritual book Never Walk Alone with Gavin Peacock.
2. Gavin Peacock
Peacock has been a Christian since his playing days. He will back in his punditry career after Euro 2008, and move to Canada to study Divinity. He will become a priest, vicar or minister when he completes his course.
3. Kaka
The Brazilian playmaker has made no secret of his religious beliefs. Aside from his famous ‘I Belong To Jesus’ t-shirt, the AC Milan man has also vowed to become a priest when he retires.

4. Michelle Akers

The World Cup-winning former USA women’s international founded Soccer Outreach International, an organisation which promised to teach people how to integrate sport and faith into their everyday lives.
5. Darren Moore
As well as being a devout Christian, the big centre-back often combines away trips with speaking appearances at local churches.

6. Fredi Kanoute

The Sevilla striker took to taping over his team’s sponsor because he considered promoting gambling company 888.com to be against his Muslim beliefs.
