2. Tim Cahill (Everton)
Pros Loves to get forward and is a consistent scorer from midfield. Will be hungry to have a good season after missing so much of the previous campaign.
Cons He’ll miss the opening game or two, as he recovers from a foot injury.

3. Ashley Young (Aston Villa)
Pros Improving fast. More attack-minded than most Prem midfielders – may play some games as a second striker. Decent goalscoring record.
Cons Still young and could improve his consistency. One of the more expensive midfielders in most fantasy games.

4. David Bentley (Spurs)
Pros Looked good in pre-season. Guaranteed to provide assists from out wide. Seems ready to step-up a level after leaving Blackburn.
Cons Expensive. Spurs have a big squad, so he may not play in every game, and will certainly be subbed off in a few.

5. Niko Kranjcar (Portsmouth)
Pros Growing in stature with each season. Takes most of Pompey’s set pieces. May even end up at a big four club in January.
Cons Pompey don’t score as many goals as the big four.

6. Steven Gerrard (Liverpool)
Pros Involved in everything Liverpool do. Always weighs in with goals and assists. If fit, will play most league games.
