Anticipating contact? Try ‘cheating arsehole’…

Obviously it’s all extremely hilarious – Suarez fell down like a plonker – but it slightly galls Pies that there’s never any outrage over things like this. He deserves to be punished for this.

It would be so easy for the FA to administer a retrospective one-match dive to Suarez for his attempts to get anyone and everyone wrongfully penalised and it’s downright stupefying that such measures aren’t in place.

Perhaps we’re just expecting too much from a #BUNCHOFTWATS?

@ Chris – agree that this is bad but what about all the penalties that he has been turned down for that were legitimate and there have been quite a few, should he be given retrospective penalties and those offenders also booked retrospectively? They need to bring in a functioning review panel with real power over a number of areas not just diving

  2. Dont Worry says:

He dives so much its hard to trust when he is actually fouled i think the problem is

  3. Sharky says:

Any one else see the stamp on Suarez’s chest during the first half? I wonder why Tony Pulis isnt moaning about that.

  4. Coficymro says:

As a Liverpool fan, it pains me to see such laughable behaviour. I do believe that there was contact, but not enough to warrant a fall. It’s because of incidents like this that we’ve been denied 3 legitimate penalties in the last 3 games. I agree that we should ban players retrospectively for this, it’s gone beyond farcical.

However, I can’t fathom how this has received more publicity than Huth’s disgraceful stamp on Suarez. Surely violence such as this is far more serious than diving?

  5. Mr. Chopper says:

And then Rodgers wonders why Suarez gets fuck all.

  6. C7 says:

Im sorry, but if a non footballer like Huth was kicking 8 shades of shit out of me throughout, I would have no problem trying to stitch him up for a penalty. maybe if defenders didnt get away with dragging studs down ankles and cynical fouling when a player is through, there might be a bit more respect. im not condoning this, but the fact is defenders are the dirtiest bastards on the pitch, and spend 90 minutes kicking forwards.

  7. Steven says:

Just give fouls inside the box as free kicks instead of penalties. Then there’s no advantage in diving and be better off staying on their feet.

  8. Mike J says:

As ridiculous as the dive is I’m not sure it warrants more media attention than Bale’s dive, RVP’s elbow or Huth’s stamp combined. And before people go on about Suarez being a serial offender, RVP and Huth have got form for violent conduct and Bale has for diving, it’s just not at the forefront of media reporting as they aren’t South American.

  9. Pkhakheria says:

he needs lessons from Ashley Young , he dives like a champion atleast .

  10. Milkchew says:

If that was say…Wayne Rooney, this would not even be mentioned on this website. Yes it looks bad, but so do alot of things when you cut them into a four second clip and repeat them over and over again.

  11. Shane says:

Great to see that this little bitch got the shit stomped out of him by Huth. Very satisfactory indeed.

  12. Si says:

@Milkchew – aye, because the everyone is biased…

Suarez is a serial offender, as is Bale. Gerrard seems to have cooled down now, but was also terrible, as was Ronaldo. Rooney, for example, is a paragon of virtue compared to a lot of forwards (or the entire Chelsea team).

And if he took such a blatant (and disgusting dive) as that, it would be all over the site. Pies, despite some of its flaws, is fairly level headed and the guys even rip their own teams to shreds when called for.

  13. Si says:

(That should read “because everyone is biased,” clearly!)

  14. Rob says:

3 game ban, if they do it again then 5 game ban. The FA seriously needs to act and get rid of this pathetic rule of not over ruling the refs.

  15. supa phil says:

If Stewart Robson were named Jorge Castillo and Gervinho were named Adam Lionhart, MOTD would still be talking about that dive.

  16. Marc says:

You need to watch this before condemning the man.

    He needs to be protected.
