Lord knows what’s going on here!

The Turkish Football Federation have confirmed that former Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has been appointed as the new coach of the Turkish national team. Hiddink has put pen to paper on a two year contract (taking up the reigns as of August 1st 2010)  and has been principally charged with guiding Turkey to the European Championships in 2012.

After confirming that he would not be renewing his contract with Russia when it runs out on the 30th June this year, Hiddink has been linked with a host of managerial positions – vacant or otherwise – with Liverpool, Nigeria and North Korea all touted as possible destinations for the 63 year old Dutchman.
