Newcastle United 1-0 Liverpool – Premier League – 1st November 2014
The Newcastle revival continued at St. James’ Park on Sunday, with the Magpies deservedly winning 1-0 against Liverpool. The Reds, on the other hand, continue to struggle to rediscover last season’s form.
Sub Ayoze Perez was the goal-hero for the hosts, netting for the second game in a row and Alan Pardew’s men could have had more goals. However, the visitors struggled to find a cutting edge while they once again failed to convince at the back.
Newcastle, who had Gabriel Obertan subbed with a serious looking thigh injury, go 11th while seventh-placed Liverpool are now 12 points behind league leaders Chelsea.
