Leicester City 1-3 Liverpool – Premier League – 2nd December 2014

Liverpool came from a goal down to secure a confidence-boosting victory at the King Power Stadium on tuesday night.

A Leonardo Ulloa shot which hit the post before deflecting in off Simon Mignolet’s bonce had given the Foxes the lead with 22 minutes on the clock. However the visitors were back on level terms soon after, courtesy of an Adam Lallana effort. After the break, the visitors pushed for the win and were rewarded when Steven Gerrard capitalised on a howler from Wes Morgan. The Leicester defender’s night then went from bad to worse when he was sent off for a last-man foul on Rickie Lambert.

Despite looking like they could still get back into the game, the 10-man Foxes’ comedy of errors continued, with Kasper Schmeichel’s fumble allowing Raheem Sterling to set up Jordan Henderson, who fired him to seal the deal for the Reds.

Liverpool go eighth while Nigel Pearson’s strugglers stay bottom.
