With his middle-management leanings and his vocabulary consisting of nothing but spurious jargon directly copy+pasted from the 2013 UEFA coaching manual, Brendan Rodgers is something of a parody of modern day coaching.
He seems to be convinced he’s attaining mythological status at Liverpool by styling himself as Shankly 2.0 while the rest of the world chortles at him as they would a confused toddler with strawberry yoghurt all over its face.
However, just when you thought Brendan Rodgers couldn’t get any more Brendan Rodgersy, Portuguese midfielder Joao Teixeira (currently on loan from Liverpool at Brighton) has revealed another example of Rodgers’ cringeworthy inspirational team-building exercises to The Sun.

He reads inspirational messages from players’ mums. Perfect. Of course he does.
We think it’s only fitting to end on a Brendanism, so let this sink in for a moment or two: “You can live without water for many days, but you can’t live for a second without hope.”
Never has a truer word been spoketh.
And yes, he did actually once say that out loud.
